Norwich City vs Bournemouth Match Preview
Two clubs odds-on to be relegated meet at Carrow Road this weekend – and in Bournemouth’s case, that description could never have been envisaged two months ago.
The Cherries were going along nicely when they won 1-0 against Manchester United in early November, but subsequently their form has nosedived and they have plummeted down the Premier League table to second bottom with only four points collected from a possible 33.
That still leaves Bournemouth six clear of Norwich, who are cut adrift and it is very difficult to see last season’s Championship winners staying up being effectively nine points from safety.
At least Bournemouth are still within striking distance of teams like Watford and West Ham, but their current plight is becoming increasingly worrying as they continue to struggle with injuries and Eddie Howe is now favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his job – but also still heads the Paddy Power market to replace Gareth Southgate with England!
Both of these teams were emphatically beaten last weekend, Norwich going down 4-0 at Manchester United while Bournemouth lost 3-0 at home to Watford following a bad kicking error from goalkeeper Mark Travers that led to the opening goal.
It is difficult to trust either of these teams to win, especially as Norwich were defeated 2-0 at home by a similarly out-of-sorts Watford side in November, and the best bet looks to be a share of the spoils.
