Nigeria vs Guinea Match Preview
Nigeria have had far more troubles against Burundi (1-0) than many in the know expected, as the rivals’ showed off as a very tough nut to crack and certainly had chances of their own but a wonder pass from Temitayo Aina converted by Odion Ighalo secured the points and Gernot Rohr’s men now meet Guinea for their Matchday 2 clash looking to build on it.
Super Eagles have indeed struggled for goals and it was obvious as they failed to pick up their spirits ahead of the tournament, with a goalless draw against Zimbabwe and a 1-0 loss to Senegal also on the records in June. They’ll now hope to build on a great confidence booster, though, and we expect them very motivated.
Guinea have, on the other hand, seen a thrilling 2-2 draw against Madagascar and while they’ve pushed for a late winner many see the shared spoils as a fair result, which puts Paul Put’s men in a position desperate for points to build towards the top 2 spot on the day.
National Elephants have struggled to turn clashes their way just as much beforehand and the losses to Benin (1-0) and Egypt (3-1) earlier in June will be just as worrying. They’ve been conceding on the regular and with narrow clashes we’ve been used to in Egypt so far, Guinea have a lot to work on if they’re to cope.
We do feel Nigeria come into the match in a better place despite their inability to really impress early in the competition, which has us going for them to bag all three points in a win priced at 4/5 with 22bet – hoping to see them turn another narrow clash their way here.
With that in mind, we don’t feel we’re in for many goals now and we’ll thus also go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with Helabet, which has been rated buying money for old rope and caught the eye of many big hitters already.
