Nice vs Monaco Match Preview
Nice failed to cope with the league’s top 4 but still proved themselves a tough side to beat, as they suffered a comfortable 3-0 loss at St Etienne but it was also their only second loss in nine outings as they host Monaco on the Final day of the campaign.
Les Aiglons have bagged six wins in their last nine home outings too, with two draws and a narrow 0-1 loss to Caen on the records. They’ve based their mid-table success on such a streak in front of the home fans and we now expect them in a great mood once again.
Monaco have, on the other hand, seen a lot more disappointing campaign and still (theoretically speaking) have a battle for survival on their hands. However, they’ve all but secured it with a 2-0 win over Amiens last week, as they sit three points clear of 18th placed Caen – with a seven-goal better difference to their name.
Les Monegasques have thus ended a seven-match winless streak, where they suffered four losses and only held Guingamp (1-1), Reims (0-0), and Rennes (2-2) to draws along the way. They will be motivated to seal the deal with an upset at Allianz Riviera but we don’t see them making it happen.
We will thus go for Nice to hold them off and prove their worth in front of the home fans once again, as we now go for an enticing Double Chance – Home win or Draw at 7/10 with bet365.
We feel both sides have struggled to keep clean sheets and with that in mind, we’re now also going for goals as we back a Yes on Both teams to score at 7/10 with William Hill. We’ve seen goals on both ends in two of Nice’s last three outings and three of Monaco’s respective last five, which looks like further evidence for such a bet.
