Nice vs Bordeaux Match Preview
Nice finally ended a four-match losing streak and six games without a win as they beat Reims (2-0) with goals from unexpected heroes Wylan Cyprien and Christophe Herelle, who stepped up as Patrick Vieira struggles to get the best out of his attacking line. They now host Bordeaux hoping to build on the success but should be in for a tough challenge.
Les Aiglons saw Nantes (1-0), PSG (1-4), and Strasbourg (1-0) snatch the points beforehand but the League Cup loss to Le Mans (3-2) last week, who have struggled to make a real impact in Ligue 2 this term, could be the most disappointing. They now have a lot to work on and climbing the table seems like a tough task despite slim margins at this point.
Bordeaux have, on the other hand, made their way past Dijon (2-0) in a narrow League Cup contest and built on it with a weekend win over Nantes (2-0), where Francois Kamano opened the scoresheet late in the first half and Hwang Ui-jo added one just before the hour mark.
Girondins will now want to keep it up but have a lot to prove after seeing troubled displays against St Etienne (0-1) and Lille (3-0) in Ligue 1 beforehand. They sit just outside the top 4 and have just as much to play for, looking for their first win in seven head-to-head clashes against Nice.
We don’t really see them snatching all three points, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils in a very narrow contest. We’ll thus go for a Draw, which feels like more than a lively longshot at 2/1 with Paddy Power.
We thus hope to see few goals and we’ll also go for Under 1.5 Goals FT at 7/4 with BetVictor, which would make it the fifth such head-to-head clash in a row. Both sides have struggled for a consistent goalscoring record and this sounds like evidence for such a bet too.
