Newcastle United vs Arsenal Gentingbet Preview

After missing out on a Champions League spot last season by one-point, Unai Emery will demand his team not only go one better but show some early season form to get them in the title winning conversation. The form of Aubameyang and Lacazette will be crucial to Arsenal’s title aspirations, while some of their impressive new signings will be looking to get the fans onside when they take on Newcastle in their opening game.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal Match Preview

Steve Bruce embarks on the unenviable task of trying to win over the long-suffering Newcastle fans by taking the big scalp of Arsenal on the opening weekend of the new season.

Appointed in charge of his hometown club last month after Rafael Benitez’s departure, Bruce has been condemned for being a ‘dinosaur manager’ (the fans’ words, not ours), a former Sunderland boss and the latest poor decision made by Newcastle’s hugely unpopular owner Mike Ashley.

But he will certainly bring passion to the job and may just fare better than expected, although it is difficult to see him kicking off with a victory against Arsenal who have experienced a frantic summer transfer window.

One of the most active Premier League clubs in the market, the Gunners were conducting business right up to the deadline on Thursday and at the time of writing they looked set to complete deals for defenders David Luiz and Kieran Tierney.

In addition to the earlier signings of Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos (on loan), the late deals looked to have strengthened Arsenal considerably – although Luiz is not everyone’s cup of tea and there must be question marks about just how he will settle into the squad.

However, the quality Unai Emery has at his disposal is there for all to see now and while it may only be by a narrow margin, Arsenal are expected to secure three points on Tyneside.
