Netherlands vs Estonia Match Preview

Netherlands have been in great shape since September and they host Estonia on the final day of the campaign looking to build on such performances, just days after their all-important trip to Northern Ireland over the weekend. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and we’ll surely see them motivated to keep it up.

Oranje beat Germany (2-4) in September and too revenge for a similarly thrilling home loss to the rivals, building on the display with wins over Estonia (0-4), Northern Ireland (3-1), and Belarus (1-2) since. We’ve seen goals coming from all directions but Georginio Wijnaldum has been an unlikely hero lately, with four goals to his name in the campaign.

Estonia have struggled to make a real impact in Group C and they’ll hardly be great challengers on the day either we feel. They’ve seen a 1-0 friendly loss to Ukraine on Thursday and this was the sixth loss in seven outings, with only a goalless draw in Belarus interrupting the unwanted streak.

More worryingly, Sinisargid haven’t been able to find the net on the road and now still search for the first goal as they travel to Johan Cruijff Arena. While they’ve been putting on some tougher challenges along the way, we’ve seen Karel Voolaid’s men concede eight in Germany and we could be in for another thrashing on the day.

We will thus back Netherlands to secure the points in a high-scoring contest, going for a Home win & Over 3.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with Paddy Power – which has seen many big hitters lumping already with Oranje’s fine form up front.
