Napoli vs Verona Match Preview

On the face of it, many people will probably see this as a game that Napoli will win comfortably however we don’t think that is the case. They have not hit their stride yet, and come up against a team in Verona who have been rock solid on their return to Serie A. They have only scored six goals which will worry them, but with just five against they have a positive goal difference. Even when they have been beaten, which has been by two good teams in Juventus and AC Milan, they have only lost by one goal, so they are very good at keeping games close.

Napoli would have expected to be slightly better than what they have shown us so far. They are in 4th position, so not doing too badly, but they are already six points behind Juventus, and that is a lot even at this stage. Something that Napoli have been involved in so far is a few high scoring games. However, with Verona coming to play who like to keep things tight it will be interesting to see if Napoli can get an early breakthrough and force Verona to open up a little.

We don’t think they will, and we think this game will be a lot tougher for Napoli than the betting suggests. We think they will scrape the win in the end, but it won’t be a walk in the park for them. With that in mind, we think the value here lies with backing Verona on the +2 handicap line, which is either them to win the game, draw the game or lose by one goal.
