Nantes have been in fine form early in the new campaign and they sit 2nd placed with 19 points to their name as they host Monaco for their Matchday 11 clash on Friday evening, albeit losing track of pace-setters PSG who sit five points in the clear as Christian Gourcuff’s men saw a disappointing 1-0 loss at Metz last week.

Les Canaris have been rock-solid at the back and based their success in front of the home fans on such displays, where they kept clean sheets in all five outings at La Beaujoire. They held off Marseille (0-0) back in August and beat Montpellier (1-0), Reims (1-0), Rennes (1-0), and Nice (1-0) since.

Monaco are still to escape the immediate danger zone in Ligue 1 despite picking it up lately, having bagged three wins in their last four outings. However, all three came in front of the home fans and the visitors are yet to prove their worth when away from home – having bagged just two points on four trips.

Les Monegasques have seen losses at Metz (3-0) and Montpellier (3-1) while sharing the spoils with Strasbourg (2-2) and Reims (0-0) along the way. Leonardo Jardim’s men finally started scoring goals but will be under great pressure here, which could make for a great test to see if they’re up to the task at this point.

We don’t feel they’ll handle it very well, though, and we’ll now stick our necks out for Nantes to capitalize. We’ll thus go for a Home win at 17/10 with Paddy Power, which feels like more than just a lively longshot as they prove themselves a tough nut at this ground.
