Morocco vs Namibia Match Preview
Morocco open their Africa Cup of Nations as they meet Namibia at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on Sunday, looking to end a three-match losing streak after failing to pick up their team spirits through March and June friendlies – since topping their Qualifiers group ahead of Cameroon on goal difference.
Indeed, Atlas Lions have work to do and we’ve seen them beaten in very narrow clashes against Argentina (0-1), Gambia (0-1), and Zambia (2-3) despite finally finding their goalscoring form with a brace from Hakim Ziyech midway through June. Herve Renard will now want to show off as favourites and we feel they’ll be very motivated to do so.
Namibia have been just as unpredictable despite a more lenient schedule on their end but they still come into the match on the back of a comfortable 3-0 win over Seychelles – where Gurirab opened the scoresheet with a brace and Urikhob added one just after the hour mark.
Brave Warriors finished behind Guinea-Bissau in the Qualifiers’ Group K but still made it to the final tournament as 2nd placed with eight points to their name, ahead of 3rd placed Mozambique only on goal difference. They’ve struggled for consistency and this will be more of a worry, as they look for an upset in tough group D.
We do feel Morocco will have what it takes to secure the points, though, and we don’t see an upset at least early on – as we go for a confident win to Nil at 10/11 with MyBet, which seems a great approach to the fixture at this point.
We don’t feel we’re in for a very one-sided game here and this still shouldn’t prove an easy task for Morocco, as we hope to see a tough deadlock to break and back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with Surebet247 – which would feel a conventional fixture for both sides lately.
