Montpellier vs Monaco Match Preview
Monaco travel to Montpellier for their Matchday 9 Ligue 1 clash on Saturday in good spirits after returning to the winning ways and connecting two in a row last week, beating Nice (3-1) and Brest (4-1) in two high-scoring clashes in front of the home fans and finally climbing the league table.
Les Monegasques have earned just two points in six games beforehand and Leonardo Jardim will surely be desperate to build on their newly found consistency. They have been scoring goals but finally started capitalizing on them, which will be a great pick-me-up and promises a solid challenge at Stade de la Mosson.
Montpellier have, on the other end, seen a three-match unbeaten streak since the International break but also saw it ended by Strasbourg (1-0) on Sunday. They have been used to narrow clashes but a single goal from Ludovic Ajorque proved enough for them to drop all three points at Stade de la Meinau, which will feel worrying.
La Paillade have been a tougher nut to crack at home ground, though, and have a lot to build in that sense. They’ve beaten Lyon (1-0), Nice (2-1), and Nimes (1-0) in three outings since late August and will have high hopes they can keep up such a streak on Saturday evening.
However, we don’t see them doing so and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for Monaco to capitalize on their form of recent, snatching all three points in an Away win priced at 8/5 with Paddy Power – which seems like more than a lively longshot.
We do expect goals and they’ll have to build on their goalscoring tally led by in-form Aleksandr Golovin and Wissam Ben Yedder. They’ve netted seven goals in two games and we now hope to see them outgun the rivals, as we also go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 49/50 with 22bet.
