Montpellier vs Monaco Match Preview
Monaco travel to Montpellier for their Matchday 24 Ligue 1 clash after finally ending their four-match losing streak with a 2-1 win over Toulouse, where goals from Aleksandr Golovin and Fabregas proved enough for all three points in front of the home fans.
Les Monegasques have been seeing players returning from injuries and looking up, but it feels they have a lot to prove at Stade de la Mosson with a long way to climb into the mid-table at this point. They’ve been scoring goals away from home on the regular and this will be more promising, despite a tough challenge looming.
Montpellier have a four-match unbeaten streak behind them but we’ve also seen them turn just one of those games their way, where they beat Caen (2-0) but were held off by Dijon (1-1), Rennes (0-0), and Nimes (1-1) along the way. Michel Der Zakarian’s men have been tough to score against but still struggle in the final third just as well.
La Paillade have seen just three losses in 13 home outings this term and this will be a confidence booster on its own, despite seeing thriller contest with a tough schedule lately. Points at Stade de la Mosson will be crucial for their top 4 ambitions but getting all three on Sunday will be no easy task.
We will now stick our necks out for Monaco to build on their performance against Toulouse and snatch a point in Montpellier, as we go for a Draw at 11/5 with Betfair. Montpellier have struggled to turn games their way and this could prove costly once again.
We feel we’re in for an exciting game, though, and with that in mind –we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 10/11 with William Hill. Both have struggled to shut down rivals completely and this proves to the point as well, giving further evidence for such a bet.
