Borussia Monchengladbach vs Wolfsburg Match Preview
Borussia Monchengladbach host Wolfsburg for their Matchday 23 clash on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back to the winning ways after a thrashing 0-3 loss to Hertha Berlin here and an exciting 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt where a late equalizer from Denis Zakaria saved a point.
Die Fohlen still sit 3rd placed and have a lot to build on with a great gap to 5th placed Bayer Leverkusen, with an absolute need to rediscover their fine form in front of the home crowd. The loss to Hertha only ended their perfect run at Borussia Park and Dieter Hecking should have no troubles asking for more of the same now.
However, Wolfsburg promise a strong challenge and come into the match on the back of a couple of high-scoring clashes, where they held off Freiburg (3-3) in a six-goal thriller and beat Mainz (3-0) with goals coming from all directions.
Die Wolfe have struggles for consistency on the road, though, and bagging just one win in their last four trips will be more worrying. They’ve snatched the points at Hertha (0-1) but struggled to do the same in clashes at Leipzig (1-0 in DFB Pokal), Schalke (2-1) or Freiburg (3-3) despite scoring goals.
We will now back Monchengladbach to capitalize on such woes and bag all three points on Saturday, where a Home win looks great value at 5/6 with William Hill despite their recent struggles to turn clashes their way.
However, we feel Wolfsburg will be no easy targets now either and we do see them getting on the scoresheet as well, as we go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 7/10 with bet365 – which feels like a generous banker bet at this point.
