Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund Match Preview
Borussia Dortmund travel to Monchengladbach in great shape after extending a four-match winning streak across competitions, hoping to build on the performances we’ve seen since mid-February and keep up with Bundesliga pace-setters Bayern Munich – who sit four points in the clear at this point.
BVB beat Freiburg (1-0) with a single goal from Jadon Sancho last week, building on important wins over Werder Bremen (0-2) and PSG (2-1) in Champions League. They have a tough schedule on their hands through March and early April too, which will make retaining consistency here all the more important.
Borussia Monchengladbach haven’t felt as convincing as they would have wanted early in 2020 but still managed a five-match unbeaten streak since late January, holding off RB Leipzig (2-2) and Hoffenheim (1-1), while beating struggling Mainz (3-1), Fortuna Dusseldorf (1-4), and Augsburg (2-3) with some great displays up front.
Foals now have a lot to prove but have great ground to build on as well, despite seeing Marcel Thuram and Alassane Plea both struggling with injuries. They scored 13 goals in the last five games and while Yann Sommer hasn’t managed a clean sheet along the way, this promises a great challenge once again.
We will go for Monchengladbach to show off as a tough nut to crack and we’ll now stick with them to end a ten-match losing streak in head-to-head clashes against BVB. We will thus back a Draw, which looks like the best approach to the market at 29/10 with bet365.
We should be in for goals and both sides’ recent performances suggest just the same. With that in mind, going for a Yes on Both teams to score feels like buying money for old rope and we’ll do so at 1/2 with bet365 as well.
