Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund Match Preview
Borussia Dortmund have kept themselves in the chase for the title with a thriller 3-2 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf, now sitting two points behind pace-setters Bayern Munich and hoping for another slip-up from the rivals as they travel to Monchengladbach on the final day of the campaign.
BVB have been scoring numbers of goals on the regular but still saw a dip in form as they suffered a 2-4 loss to Schalke and a 2-2 draw against Bremen in two outings beforehand, now seen as great damage to their title ambitions despite a very solid campaign led by in-form captain Marco Reus.
He will now return to the pitch after two games and will be needed indeed, as Monchengladbach have plans of their own after making the top 4 cut late in the campaign – desperate for points to hold off chasers Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and even Wolfsburg whose chances are very slim indeed.
The last week’s win over Nurnberg (0-4) did come with great confidence but also only ended a three-match winless streak and came as their second in seven outings since late March. We thus feel they could struggle to build on it on Saturday despite great expectations.
We will now stick with Borussia Dortmund to make this a last-ditch effort at the title with an Away win priced at 6/5 with William Hill, hoping to see them keep up their great goalscoring records and bag the important points.
Mario Gotze has been taking it upon himself to score goals lately and after seeing him find the net three times in the last four outings, we’ll now also back him to play a great role with a goal anytime at 21/10 with Paddy Power.
