Monaco vs St Etienne Match Preview
St Etienne travel to Monaco for their Matchday 35 Ligue 1 clash on Sunday in great shape after connecting a six-match unbeaten streak and making the top 4 cut, lagging just three points behind 3rd placed Lyon and the spot leading to Champions League Qualifiers.
ASSE have comfortably beaten Bordeaux (3-0), Reims (0-2), and Toulouse (2-0) in their last three outings, with goals coming from all directions and clean sheets on all of the occasions. However, the win in Reims was only their third in seven trips since January, which will feel a lot more worrying ahead of the trip to Stade Louis II.
Monaco have seen woes lately too and have a lot to play for at this point, just four points clear of 18th placed Caen and five of Dijon who sit in the relegation zone. They haven’t seen a win in any of the last five outings either and Leonardo Jardim’s men look desperate for a pick-me-up.
Les Monegasques have held Rennes to a thriller 2-2 draw at Roazhon Park last week, where everything went wrong early on but a second-half brace from Radamel Falcao secured a point. They will now want more and we expect them very motivated to get it on Sunday.
Still, St Etienne seem to be in a much better place at this point and we’ll back them to snatch a point as we stick our necks out for a Draw at 5/2 with William Hill, which feels like a solid approach to the fixture.
We do hope to see goals between the sides once again and with that in mind, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/13 with bet365 – which has been rated buying money by many in the know with Monaco struggling to keep it together at the back.
