Monaco vs Reims Match Preview
Monaco ended the year with a thrashing 5-1 win over Lille just days after crashing out of the League Cup in the hands of LOSC (0-3), now hosting Reims for their Coupe de France clash in hope they can build on such a display in front of the home fans and make their way to the 16th Finals.
Les Monegasques have been picking it up and we’ve seen them catch up with the top 4 in Ligue 1, now sitting just three points behind. They’ve bagged three wins and a draw in their last four league outings and Robert Moreno will hope the instant impact he’s made will last early in the new year as well.
Reims will surely be tough rivals to beat, though, and they’ve shown off as a tough nut to crack on many occasions this term. They now have a seven-match unbeaten streak behind them, including a 1-1 draw against Lyon last time out – where David Guion’s men saw a run of three consecutive wins ended.
Red and Whites have beaten St Etienne (3-1), Toulouse (0-1), and Montpellier (1-0) since early December and while they have struggled for consistency on the road, it’s been obvious they can cope with just about anyone. They will now want to show off as well and this promises a very exciting contest at Louis II Stadium.
We thus hope to see a very solid challenge from the visitors and we’re going with an enticing Double Chance – where backing a Draw or Reims to win comes at Evens with bet365 and has caught our eye as the best approach to the fixture.
We should be in for goals, though, and we feel Reims will have to cope if they’re to do so. With that in mind, we’re now also going for a Yes on Both teams to score, which can be backed at 5/6 with William Hill and looks like a solid approach as well.
