Monaco vs Nice Match Preview
Nice have beaten Bordeaux (1-0) with a single goal from Allan Saint-Maximin and ended a six-match winless streak across competitions, including losses to Guingamp (on penalties after a goalless draw in Coupe de la Ligue), Strasbourg (2-0), and Toulouse (4-1 in Coupe de France).
Les Aiglons have struggled for stability at the back and this has proven costly on many occasions, but we have seen Patrick Vieira’s men finally end the unwanted streak – which should ultimately have them motivated in search of important points at struggling rivals.
Monaco have picked it up through the Cups, on the other hand, beating Canet Roussillon (0-1) and Rennes (on penalties after a 1-1 draw). They’ve now held on to a tough 1-1 draw at Orange Velodrome where a goal from Yoeri Tielemans proved enough for a point.
Les Monegasques will now hope they can build on such displays and escape the relegation zone as they sit three points behind 18th placed Dijon and four behind 17th placed Amiens. They’re desperate for consistency of results at home ground and this will be an important test.
We will back them to prove their worth and we’ll now go for a Home win at 13/10 with Betfair, hoping to see them build on the performances of recent despite seeing this as probably the toughest challenge yet.
Thierry Henry has struggled to find a cure for his men’s goalscoring woes, though, and we expect a narrow contest with few goals! With that in mind, we’ll now also back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with BetVictor and hope we’re in for a tough defensive challenge on both ends.
