Monaco vs Bordeaux Match Preview
Monaco host Bordeaux for their Matchday 28 clash on Saturday evening looking to connect their fourth home win in a row, after connecting positive results since early February and escaping the immediate danger zone in Ligue 1.
Les Monegasques have beaten Toulouse (2-1), Nantes (1-0), and Lyon (2-0) in three outings here and held off both Montpellier (2-2) and Angers (2-2) in two thrillers on the road, which should have Leonardo Jardim’s men in great spirits once again. They’ve finally started scoring more goals and will hope they can capitalize on it at Stade Louis II.
Bordeaux have, on the other hand, struggled for such pick-me-ups and losses to Nantes (1-0) and Montpellier (1-2) in late February and early March, respectively, set them just six points clear of Monaco after 26 games played. They will now hope they can recuperate quickly but it feels the visitors are in for a tough challenge.
Furthermore, Les Girondins have struggled to produce on the road and we’ve seen them suffer five consecutive losses since late January, failing to find the net on four of those occasions. These surely come as a great disappointment despite narrow occasions that they were and we don’t see them bouncing back just yet.
We will thus stick with Monaco to capitalize on their woes and build on a winning streak at this ground, where going for a Home win at 4/6 with bet365 feels like more of a banker bet.
We have seen them rock-solid at the back and this has us keeping faith they’ll be able to shut down Bordeaux on Saturday. With that in mind, we’re also backing Monaco to keep a clean sheet at an enticing 23/20 with William Hill and hoping for another narrow occasion.
