Millwall vs Stoke Match Preview
Millwall appointed Gary Rowett as manager this week and he will take charge for the first time and it will be against his old side Stoke. He inherits a side who have drawn three of their last five including a 2-2 tie with Cardiff on Tuesday night.
At the Den, the Lions have been tough opponents with three victories, two draws and a solitary loss in their first six. Each of their last four at this ground in the Championship have seen both teams score with three going over 2.5 goals.
Stoke suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek that brought to an end a two-game winnng run. The result was probably fair and Nathan Jones in the dugout is a man feeling the pressure as he goes up against the man whose side he inherited in January 2019.
Away from the BET365 Stadium, the Potters have picked up just four points this season though these have come from their last three fixtures. They are struggling for goals on the road netting just five times away this campaign.
This is a tricky game to predict as Millwall start life under Gary Rowett against a team he used to manage. Rowett will want to win this one while it is hard to know what the motivation of the Stoke players under Nathan Jones.
The last four at the Den have seen both teams score so this looks a safer approach with both sides keen on the three points. In addition, try a small play on Liam Lindsay to score here as the Stoke man did show some attacking threat in midweek and will be eager to ammend for the mistake that lead to the Sheffield Wednesday goal in the last fixture.
