Millwall vs QPR Match Preview
Millwall picked up a vital three points at the weekend as they put in an impressive performance to defeat West Brom 2-0. They needed the win with the teams round about them picking up points and they are 20th one point above the bottom three. A victory would see them close the gap to the Rs to just one point in the table.
At the Den, the Lions put their five-game winless run behind them with that victory over West Brom on Saturday. A lack of goals at their own place is an issue with just six netted from their last eight at their own place. They have kept clean sheets in three of their last five in front of their own fans.
QPR were awful last weekend as they crashed 4-0 at Norwich with the East Anglian side two up in just 12 minutes. The London outfit are 18th and the results of teams around them means they are now just five points above safety. They now face three-in-a-row against teams in the bottom-half and must take advantage of this.
Away from Loftus Road, the Rs are without a victory in their last eight with six of these matches ending in defeat. On the road, the London outfit have both a bottom-third ranked attack and a bottom-third ranked defence. They have conceded at least two goals from their last six on the road and 15 in total from these fixtures.
The hosts are a short-price to win this one and while we can see them being a popular bet given how awful QPR were at the weekend we can not bring ourselves to back the Lions at those odds. We would not be looking to take them on though with QPR so it is recommended to look at other betting markets.
Given their shocking start last time I am backing the Rs to learn from their mistakes this time and will back them to at least keep the scores down until the break. Backing the game to be level at half-time and 0-0 in the half-time correct score market looks the way to play this.
