Middlesbrough vs Stoke Match Preview
Middlesbrough made it back-to-back victories as a Britt Assombalonga goal helped them beat Hull 1-0. It means they sit in seventh place and while the two teams around them (Bristol City and Derby) have the games in hand the Teesiders have the kindest run-in. None of their four remaining opponents are ranked higher than 11th in the table.
At the Riverside, Boro put a four-game losing streak behind them with that defeat of Hull. Each of the last three at this ground have ended 1-0 with Boro losing two and winning one. Just two of the last 12 here have gone over 2.5 goals and not one has gone over 3.5.
Stoke continued their run of drawing matches as their 2-2 tie with Rotherham made it eight from their last 11. Three of these eight draws have been score draws while five have ended goalless. They end the season with three fixtures against sides in the top seven and a tricky game at a Millwall side needing points to stay up.
Away from the BET365 Stadium, the Potters have won just one of their last six though they have also lost just one with four finishing all-square. Five of the last six for them on the road have gone under 2.5 goals and four under 1.5. In none of their last eight on their travels have the Staffordshire outfit netted after the break.
Middlesbrough should win this game but Stoke are stubborn opponents and with both teams struggling for goals a draw is also in the mix. We think better value can be had away from the market markets though.
Going low goals is the obvious call and while under 2.5 goals is a little short under 1.5 goals could be the value call. Neither side are blessed with goalscorers or attacking flair and this also brings in no in the both teams to score market.
