Middlesbrough vs Luton Match Preview
Middlesbrough made it three draws from their last four in a 2-2 draw at Wigan in a game that somehow saw four goals despite barely registering a chance on expected goals data. It is six without a victory for the Teesiders who are just six points above the dropzone though they sit in 18th.
At the Riverside, Boro it has been three successive games finishing all-square and all of them score draws (two of them finishing 1-1 and the other 2-2). It does mean that Jonathan Woodgate and his side are nine unbeaten at their own place.
Luton have won two of their last four and although the fight to stay up looks hard they seem to not be going down without a fight. They are currently 23rd in the Championship and the gap between them and safety is seven points.
Away from Kenilworth Road, the Hatters are a mess and need to find some form if they hope to stay up having lost 11 successive matches. Each of the 11 sides they have faced in this run have scored two or more goals against them.
The hosts are strong favourites to win this and you can see why given Luton have lost each of their last 11 on the road while the Teesiders are strong at their own place. The biggest issues is that Middlesbrough have drawn seven times at home this season including in each of their last three.
Boro have conceded the first goal in each of their last six matches and the Hatters should be confident after beating Sheffield Wednesday in midweek so take them to net first. James Collins got that goal in midweek and he will fancy his chances against a home team leaking goals at their own place.
