Middlesbrough vs Charlton Match Preview
Middlesbrough saw their three-game unbeaten run come to a crashing end at Leeds last time out with a 4-0 loss. They have moved up to 20th in the table ahead of this weekend and if they can continue to win games like this against teams around them they should be okay.
At the Riverside, the Teesiders have been a mixed bag of late with one victory, three draws and a defeat from five. Games at this ground tend to be low-scoring with just one of the last five and two of ten for the season going over 2.5 goals.
Charlton are badly out of form not helped by a comprehensive injury list with their 3-1 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek making it five defeats and two draws in seven. In none of their last seven have the London outfit kept a clean sheet and conceded 14 in total an average of two per game.
Away from the Valley, the Addicks are without a success in their last six Championship matches four of which have ended in defeat. Each of the five played on the road have seen both teams find the back of the net and over 2.5 goals.
The home win has been a popular bet and as such all value has gone as although Charlton are struggling at the moment the price is too short on a side with just one win in their last seven here. A better angle of attack is to find a couple of goalscorer bets and the 3-5-2 formation the Teesiders use opens a couple of value selections against an Addicks side leaking goals. Lewis Wing and George Saville are allowed to get forward and support the attack from midfield and should have chances here.
