Middlesbrough made it seven points from their last three fixtures with a goalless draw last time out. They sit nine points behind the top two though with a game in hand promotion is not beyond them.

At the Riverside, Boro are unbeaten in their last four and have lost only three of their previous 16. The Teesiders have conceded just four goals from the last six in front of their own fans.

Brentford made it three victories from their last four with a comfortable 3-0 home success over QPR last time out. They are now out of the play-off picture as they are just eight points behind sixth.

Away from Griffin Park, the Bees have been poor losing the last two and winning just once this season. They have shipped two or more goals in each of their last three on the road and four of the last six.

It is hard to argue with the match prices on offer here which make Middlesbrough favourites but pay respect to Brentford. I would not be shocked to see the Bees win this game but given their woeful away record I could not back them to do so.

Despite a goalless draw last time out Boro have been showing a lot more attacking intent in recent weeks while Brentford are clearly at their best when going forward so I see this game going over 2.5 goals. In addition, with both teams in need of three points I like over 1.5 goals in the second-half alone.
