Metz vs Marseille Match Preview
Marseille have been in fine form lately and they travel to struggling Metz for their Matchday 18 clash on the back of a six-match winning streak, boasting great goalscoring records and now surely have high hopes they can build on them on their Saturday’s trip to Saint-Symphorien Stadium.
Phocaeans beat Bordeaux (3-1) in a thriller contest where Jordan Amavi, Morgan Sanson and Nemanja Radonjic all found the net to complete a second-half comeback. This was also the sixth game in a row where they scored two or more goals, where Andre Villas-Boas certainly has a lot to be happy about at the moment.
Metz can hardly boast such a dressing room atmosphere and they host the clash with injury troubles on their hands and a total of seven players sidelined. They’ve seen losses to Rennes (0-1) and Nice (4-1) in their last two outings and Vincent Hognon has to search for a quick fix as his side sits just outside the relegation zone.
Maroons have been a tougher side to beat at this ground but still earned just two points in their last three outings here, with a League Cup exit in the hands of Brest (on penalties after a 1-1 draw) also seen in late October. They will now need more if they’re to hold off the in-form visitors and we don’t see them making it happen.
We’ll thus stick with Marseille to build on their fine streak of recent and we’ll go for them to snatch all three points in an Away win priced at 5/6 with bet365, which feels like the best approach to the fixture as the visitors dominate recent head-to-head clashes.
We should be in for goals and Phocaeans’ recent goalscoring tally suggests the same. With that in mind, we’re backing Marseille to score Over 1.5 Goals at Evens with BetVictor in hope the in-form attacking line which saw goals from all directions lately delivers again.
