Metz vs Bordeaux Match Preview
Metz head into a busy week on the back of a three-match winning streak and host Bordeaux just days after their mid-week clash at Montpellier, looking for points to escape the bottom of the table and build on the streak where they beat Strasbourg (1-0), Reims (0-1), and St Etienne (3-1).
Maroons have been a very tough nut to crack at Saint-Symphorien Stadium through most part of the campaign and we’ve only seen them beaten once in the last six occasions here. Rennes (0-1) snatched all three points in early December but Vincent Hognon’s men held off Montpellier (2-2), Reims (1-1), and Marseille (1-1) along the way.
Bordeaux will now have to look for an upset and it can hardly be said they’re impressed lately, despite coming into their mid-week clash at Brest on the back of a two-match unbeaten streak – where they narrowly beat Nantes (0-1) on the road and held Marseille to a goalless draw in front of the home crowd.
Girondins only ended a streak of four losses with a trip to Nantes, which included a disappointing Coupe de France exit in the hands of 3rd tier rivals Pau. They’ve been conceding goals on the regular and Paulo Sousa will now hope his men can build on performances of recent despite a busy schedule.
We don’t see them snatching all three points in Metz, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils in a Draw priced at 21/10 with bet365 – which feels like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
We don’t expect many goals between the sides and much could depend on their defensive displays here. With that in mind, we’re now also going for a low-scoring clash at Saint-Symphorien and backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with William Hill.
