Marseille vs Lille Match Preview

Marseille have finally ended their lengthy winless streak and now host Lille for their Matchday 22 clash on Friday evening looking to build on the 0-1 win over Caen, where a single goal from Morgan Sanson proved enough for all three points.

Les Phoceens have proven themselves a tough side to beat but they’ve failed to earn a win here since early December either, as Apollon (1-3) and Strasbourg (on penalties after a 1-1 draw) snatched wins while Reims (0-0) and Monaco (1-1) snatched a point each. They will now want to show their character but could be in for another tough challenge on the day.

Lille sit in the 2nd place and three points clear of 3rd placed Lyon, after bagging four wins in last five outings across competitions. They’ve beaten Sochaux (1-0), Caen (1-3), and Amiens (2-1) in 2019 already and travel to Orange Velodrome in great spirits looking for their fourth away win in a row.

LOSC have seen some very narrow clashes along the way but will surely be very motivated to show what they’re made of once again, building on their top 2 spot at a very important point in their campaign – with Lyon and St Etienne breathing down their necks.

We will now back the visitors to snatch a point and we’ll stick our necks out for a Draw at 12/5 with BetVictor, which feels like more than a lively longshot with both sides coming very motivated to bag points in a derby contest looming.
