Maribor have bagged a comfortable 0-3 win on their trip to Reykjavik last week and they now host Valur for the second leg of their clash looking to seal the deal with a similarly confident display at home ground, despite a disappointment early in their 1 SNL campaign.
Vijolice have seen Triglav (1-2) snatch all three points at Ljudski Vrt on Saturday and end their streak of two consecutive wins, where they picked it up through the pre-season and outclassed the Iceland rivals – with Pericic, Hotic, and Kronaveter all finding the net last week.
Valur have, on the other hand, been rather convincing domestically as they beat Grindavik (1-0), HK (1-2), and KA (3-1) but they obviously failed to cope in a pacey and exciting first leg. They will have to show more if they’re to come near an upset in Slovenia and we don’t see them doing so.
Valsarar have generally been showing more in front of the home crowd and this will be even more worrying for Olafur Johannesson and his men, as they come rated heavy underdogs even before the first clash and the last week’s loss surely dented the hopes of even the fiercest of fans.
We will now back Maribor to punch their ticket to the next round with another comfortable win here, as we go for them to win to Nil at 27/20 with Ladbrokes and hope they can pick it up defensively on the day.
