Madagascar vs Nigeria Match Preview
Madagascar have shocked many as they opened the competition at Africa Cup of Nations in a very entertaining 2-2 draw against Guinea and they built on the performance, turning a tense match against Burundi (1-0) their way as Marco Ilaimaharitra bagged a free-kick winner with just 15 minutes on the clock.
Barea thus bagged their first Africa Cup of Nations win ever and they now travel to the Alexandria Stadium for their Matchday 3 clash against Nigeria in great spirits, surely hoping to build on the atmosphere and secure a top 2 spot with any points on the day.
Nigeria will be no easy rivals to cope with and have the top spot to play for here, despite bagging six points in their first two outings – where a single goal from Odion Ighalo made the difference against Burundi (1-0) and Kenneth Omeruo netted the only goal against Guinea (1-0).
Super Eagles have been rock-solid at the back and now surely have plans of their own, as they look to build on great consistency we’ve seen lately. They’ve kept four clean sheets in last five outings and Gernot Rohr will want more of the same despite already securing a ticket to the knockout stages in Egypt.
We will thus stick with them to justify their role of favourites and we’ll back them to bag all three points, leaving Madagascar’s fate in the hands of Guinea as we go for a win priced at 10/11 with 22Bet – which seems great value despite Barea’s solid displays early on.
However, we hope to see Madagascar’s flair here too and with that in mind, we hope to see goals! We’ll thus also go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at an eye-catching 9/5 with Netbet, which does seem like a lively longshot taking Nicolas Dupuis’ men great form into concern.
