Lyon vs Lille Match Preview
Lille sit 2nd placed and six points clear of Lyon as they travel to Groupama Stadium for their Matchday 35 clash on Sunday evening, looking to build on a great 5-0 win over Nimes seen last week – where Loic Remy, Jonathan Bamba, Mehmet Celik, Nicolas Pepe, and Rui Fonte all found the net.
LOSC have had more troubles proving their worth on the road lately and this could be more worrying, after they both Reims (1-1) and Toulouse (0-0) held them to draws in April. Christophe Galtier will now want more from his men and we feel they’ll be very motivated to deliver.
Lyon will be no easy rivals to beat, though, and they’ve finally regained consistency with narrow wins over Angers (2-1) and Bordeaux (2-3) over the past two weeks. They’ve been led by in-form Memphis Depay in the final third and continued scoring goals despite troubles seen beforehand, now desperate to close the gap with just four games to play.
Surely a win here would see a thrilling finish of the campaign and great battle for the second spot leading directly to Champions League, but Les Gones have chasers in St Etienne and a lot more on their mind here.
We will now back Lille to hold them off and make a great step towards securing the 2nd spot, sticking our necks out for an enticing Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 5/4 with bet365.
We do expect goals in Decines-Charpieu and Lille will have to cope if they’re to snatch any points, as we now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/7 with William Hill. We’ve seen goals on both ends in all of Lyon’s last five as well as three of Lille’s last five outings, which does seem like further evidence for such a bet.
