Lyon vs Angers Match Preview
Lyon have seen a troubled streak early in April and host Angers for their Matchday 33 clash looking for a return to the winning ways after three losses, where they crashed out of the Coupe de France in the hands of Rennes (2-3) and dropped points to both Dijon (1-3) and Nantes (2-1) in two Ligue 1 outings since then.
Les Gones have struggled defensively and conceded eight goals along the way, which made it impossible to capitalize on the goals scored despite finding the net on all of the occasions. Bruno Genesio surely feels the pressure mounting as they now sit eight points behind 2nd placed Lille and a confidence booster comes as a must with a tough schedule to follow.
Angers have proven themselves a tough nut to crack, though, and will surely be very motivated to bag points at Groupama Stadium too. They’ve seen five draws in a row since early March and only ended the streak with a 0-1 win at Caen, where a single goal from Jeff Reine-Adelaide proved enough to secure all three points.
Les Scoistes have been scoring numbers of goals on the road and this feels like further evidence we should be in for another thrilling contest in Lyon, after scoring two at both Montpellier (2-2) and Marseille (2-2) in two trips prior to the last week’s clash at Stade Michel d’Ornano.
We will thus go for an exciting clash but we do see Lyon finally turning it their way, as we now go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 13/8 with Paddy Power. They’ve based success on such performances here and we feel they can return to the winning streak.
With that in mind, we’re also going for goals and Over 2.5 Goals FT feels like buying money for old rope at 8/15 with bet365, which would be the ninth such occasion in ten outings for Lyon as well as fifth in seven outings for the visitors.
