Livingston vs Celtic Match Preview
Livingston host Celtic for their Matchday 8 clash on Sunday and the clash against the Scottish dominants hardly comes at the best time possible, as Gary Holt’s men have to look for an upset in front of the home fans with a four-match losing streak across competitions now behind them.
Livi have seen Rangers (3-1), Aberdeen (0-2), and Hamilton Academical (2-1) all snatch important points, while Gers also made their way past the rivals in League Cup with a 0-2 win at this ground along the way. They will now be desperate to show more in the final third and will surely need to do so if they’re to hold off the in-form visitors.
Celtic come into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Cluj in Europa League, where they took revenge for their Champions League Qualifiers exit and extended an 11-match unbeaten streak connected since. They’ve been very solid at the back midway through the week and Neil Lennon will want to build on such a performance at Tony Macaroni Arena.
Bhoys have been held to a goalless draw on their last trip to this ground and we do expect another narrow occasion now, but the rivals hardly feel at their best now and they will want to capitalize. We’ve seen them bag three wins and a draw at Hibs (1-1) in their last four outings and we feel they’re very confident.
We will thus stick with Celtic to snatch all three points on their Sunday trip and we’ll go for them to do so in a win to Nil, which comes at Evens with Coral and looks like the best approach to the fixture at this point.
We feel Livingston will come very motivated to show off as a tough nut to crack in front of the home fans once again. As we hope not to see them making it on the scoresheet, we will now also go for a low-scoring contest here and back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 31/20 with Unibet.
