Livingston vs Celtic Match Preview
Livingston have struggled for consistency but host Celtic with a ten-day break behind them after snatching an important point at Hibernian (1-1), which saw them keep hold of the 5th spot in Premiership with a six-point gap to 7th placed Kilmarnock. They have been very tough to beat at Tony Macaroni Arena this term and Gary Holt will want to show off such character despite a more unpredictable run lately.
Indeed, Livi bagged seven home wins since early December and kept clean sheets on five of those occasions, proving themselves very tough defensively. They have conceded at least a goal in all of their last five outings but it’s far from being said we’ve seen a shaky back line – which promises a strong challenge now as well.
Celtic come into the match as heavy betting favourites and just days after beating St Johnstone (0-1) in FA Cup, where Ryan Christie broke the deadlock with just nine minutes left on the clock. They bounced from a disappointing Europa League exit in the hands of Copenhagen (4-2 on aggregate) and will hope they can build on their consistency once again.
Bhoys have had trouble scoring numbers of goals on the road despite quite a dominant streak and this feels like further evidence we could be in for a narrow occasion in Livingston, after seeing Livi secure the points in what was their first win in head-to-head clashes back in October (2-0).
We do see the visitors taking revenge now and we hope to see them turn the tight contest their way, as we back Celtic to win to Nil at 23/20 with BetVictor – which feels like a great approach for those keeping faith they’ll snatch the points.
With hope we’re in for a tough defensive setup on both ends, we’re now making a case for a low-scoring contest as well. We’ll go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with William Hill, which would be the sixth such occasion in seven outings for Livi and the third consecutive for Celtic on the road.
