Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Match Preview
Crystal Palace have won their last two Premier League away games, including at Manchester City, but it would be a big shock if they continued that sequence at Anfield.
The Eagles should not be short of confidence because they triumphed at this Merseyside venue for three seasons in a row before last term, and it does not get harder than bagging three points at the Etihad Stadium as they did by a 3-2 scoreline just before Christmas.
But Anfield is an absolute fortress these days and only Manchester City have stopped Liverpool from winning there in the Premier League this term, with the 10 home games yielding a 27-3 goals aggregate.
The Reds overcame a banana skin to prevail 1-0 at Brighton last weekend through Mo Salah’s penalty after back-to-back defeats and they have the chance to pile further pressure in the title race on the reigning champions, who visit Huddersfield the following day.
Palace come under the category of ‘awkward’ opponents and this may not be an easy test for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
However, they are nevertheless expected to win and show why the bookmakers still have them as odds-on favourites to end that agonising 29-year wait to regain the English crown.
