Linfield vs Qarabag Match Preview
Qarabag failed to make their way to the Champions League Play-offs despite a 1-2 win at APOEL, suffering a 0-2 loss in front of the home fans and now heading to Europa League Play-offs with a trip to Belfast on Thursday – hoping to cause an upset and get off on the front foot once again.
Atlilar have beaten Keslə (0-1) in Azerbaijan Premyer Liga since then with a single goal Ismayl Ibrahimli, bouncing back to the winning ways on Friday and now looking for a similar setup at Windsor Park. They have been very tough to beat on the road and this promises Qurban Qurbanov’s men in great shape.
Linfield have beaten HB (3-2) and Sutjeska (5-2) in two exciting clashes already and they’ll now hope they can show off in a high-scoring contest once again, but Qarabag should be much more of a challenge. They have seen their winning streak ended recently too, which will give them a task to recuperate quickly as well.
Blues have seen Coleraine (2-4) snatch a thrilling win at this ground on Saturday, where goals from Cooper and Lavery proved nothing more than a consolation. They have been conceding on the regular and this could be even more worrying, with an obvious need for a confident display in the first leg.
We don’t see them putting it on, though, and we will now back the visitors to snatch an advantage in Belfast. We feel Qarabag will do so with confidence and going for an Away win to Nil feels like the best approach to the fixture at this point, coming at 10/11 with Ladbrokes.
We feel Linfield will be no sitting ducks, though, and we hope not to see a very one-sided contest here – as we also go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 5/6 with Coral with a premise Blues should put on a tough defensive display and prove themselves a tough nut to crack.
