Lincoln vs Rotherham Match Preview
Lincoln have seen three losses in a row over the past two weeks and they could have a hard time bouncing back to the winning ways, hosting League One pace-setters Rotherham for their Matchday 32 clash in search of their third win over the rivals this term – after beating them at AESSEAL New York Stadium (0-2) in August and turning the EFL Trophy clash their way (3-0) in November.
Imps have struggled to score goals and the one scored at Southend (2-1) proved nothing but a consolation as Elvis Bwomono scored a stoppage-time winner at Roots Hall. They thus failed to bounce from disappointing results against Ipswich (1-0) and Portsmouth (0-2) and will need more against Millers.
Rotherham come into the match on the back of a thriller win over Burton (3-2), where Michael Smith scored a brace and Freddie Ladapo found the winner with 19 minutes left on the clock. This was the seventh win in eight League One outings for Paul Warne’s men and certainly promises them in a great mood.
Millers have seen an FA Cup exit in the hands of Hull (2-3) and Peterborough (2-1) interrupt the streak in League One but we’ve seen them scoring numbers of goals on the regular, as they made the top with the best goal difference in the league. They’ll now want to keep it up and take revenge at Sincil Bank.
We don’t feel they’ll be able to secure all three points, though, and we’ll now stick our necks out for a Draw on Friday evening – which comes at 12/5 with William Hill and feels like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
Indeed, Lincoln have proven themselves a tough nut to crack on many occasions here. Still, they’ll have to cope in the final third if they’re to hold off the rivals we feel and with that in mind, we’re going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with VirginBet.
