Lincoln vs Portsmouth Match Preview
Portsmouth travel to Lincoln for their Matchday 30 clash on Tuesday evening with a six-match winning streak behind them, looking to challenge a spot in the top 6 once again as they sit a point behind Sunderland with a game in hand and two behind 5th placed Peterborough with three games in hand.
Pompey beat Fleetwood (1-2), Walsall (1-2), AFC Wimbledon (2-1), Bolton (0-1), Scunthorpe (2-1), and Barnsley (4-2) since early January, obviously boasting great team spirits after showing off in FA Cup and making their way to the 5th Round past Championship strugglers Barnsley.
Lincoln have, on the other hand, seen a three-match unbeaten streak ended as they fell victims at Portman Road on Saturday, which was the first time they haven’t scored since December. They held off Shrewsbury (1-1) and beat Bolton (5-1) as well as Blackpool (1-0) beforehand and will now hope to bounce quickly.
Imps have been a very tough side to deal with at Sincil Bank and will have ground to build on, with five consecutive wins earned here since mid-December. They have been conceding goals on the regular and this will be a worry as they meet an in-form attacking line led by John Marquis – who found the net in five of his last six appearances.
We do feel Portsmouth will be able to show off once again but we don’t see them snatching all three points either. We’ll now stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils on Tuesday evening and go for a Draw priced at 12/5 with William Hill.
We do feel we’re in for excitement and with that in mind, we should be in for goals as well. We’ll back a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with William Hill, which seems like great value as both sides both score and concede on the regular.
