Liechtenstein vs Italy Match Preview
Italy travel to Liechtenstein with no great on them after securing the ticket to EURO 2020 on Saturday, where Roberto Mancini’s men bagged a tough 2-0 win over Greece in front of the home fans and extended their perfect run in Group J as well as an unbeaten streak of 11 games across competitions.
Azzurri haven’t been as convincing as they beat Bosnia-Herzegovina (2-1), Armenia (1-3), Finland (1-2), and Greece (2-0) since June but Mancini certainly has a lot to be happy about. Even when they struggled to create chances, they kept scoring goals and now have 20 to their name – a tally only topped by Belgium who have 30 to their name after eight games in Group I.
Liechtenstein have, on the other end, bagged their first points as they held off Greece (1-1 in September) and Armenia (1-1 last week) in their last two outings. They’ve shocked the top 2 chasers and seemingly recuperated after a five-match losing streak early in the campaign, but causing an upset against Italy will be much more of a challenge.
Blue and Reds have been conceding numbers of goals on the regular and obviously capitalized on their rivals missing some of their main stars. They’ve conceded 18 goals in five games beforehand, though, and this could be worrying ahead of the clash surely attracting the biggest crowd at Rheinpark Stadion so far.
We will back Italy to show off as dominants and backing them to win to Nil in Vaduz feels like buying money for old rope at 4/9 with William Hill – which caught the eye of many heavy hitters already and could be shortening ahead of the fixture.
Still, we hope not to see too many goals on the day overall and going for Under 4.5 Goals FT now feels like the best approach to the fixture, as we back it at 3/4 with Unibet in hope we will not see Liechtenstein all over the place on the day.
