Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen Match Preview
Bayer Leverkusen have connected their second win in a row as they bagged a thrilling 2-3 win in Hannover, led primarily by in-form Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz who found the late winner at HDI-Arena. They now host Werder Bremen hoping to build on it and their top 6 spot in Bundesliga with important points on Sunday.
Die Werkself beat Freiburg (2-0) at Bay Arena beforehand as they bounced back from a disappointing Europa League exit in the hands of Krasnodar and a 3-2 loss at then-pace-setters Borussia Dortmund. They will now want to keep up their streak but inconsistencies at the back will be more worrying for Peter Bosz.
Werder Bremen have, on the other hand, turned a thriller against Schalke 04 their way (4-2) and extended their nine-match unbeaten streak in 2019, with three draws also seen since mid-February – where they shared spoils with Hertha (1-1), Stuttgart (1-1), and Wolfsburg (1-1).
Die Werderaner have had no troubles playing on the road and last suffered a loss back in late December, which is bound to have them very motivated to show off and catch up with the 6th placed rivals in a head-to-head clash in Leverkusen as they search for revenge for a 2-6 home loss earlier this term.
We do feel they’ll show off as a tough nut to break and we’ll now stick our necks out for them to snatch a point in a Draw priced at 10/3 with William Hill, hoping to see both sides in a good mood here.
We expect goals at BayArena and with that in mind, we’ll also back a Yes on Both teams to score which feels like buying money for old rope at 1/2 with Paddy Power. We’ve seen goals on both ends in all of Bremen’s last four outings as well as three of Leverkusen’s respective last four, which does feel like further evidence.
