Bayer Leverkusen have connected their second win in a row as they bagged a thrilling 2-3 win in Hannover, led primarily by in-form Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz who found the late winner at HDI-Arena. They now host Werder Bremen hoping to build on it and their top 6 spot in Bundesliga with important points on Sunday.

Die Werkself beat Freiburg (2-0) at Bay Arena beforehand as they bounced back from a disappointing Europa League exit in the hands of Krasnodar and a 3-2 loss at then-pace-setters Borussia Dortmund. They will now want to keep up their streak but inconsistencies at the back will be more worrying for Peter Bosz.

Werder Bremen have, on the other hand, turned a thriller against Schalke 04 their way (4-2) and extended their nine-match unbeaten streak in 2019, with three draws also seen since mid-February – where they shared spoils with Hertha (1-1), Stuttgart (1-1), and Wolfsburg (1-1).
