Leipzig vs Freiburg Match Preview
Leipzig will host Freiburg on Saturday afternoon in the Bundesliga and like the rest of the games in that league, this one will be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak. Leipzig come here as title contenders, but recent form has prevented them from making any real strides. They are unbeaten in their last six which is good, but four of those games have resulted in draws, so they’ve actually only picked up 10 points from their last six games, something that has taken them off the pace a little.
The good news for them is that they come here on the back of a great win over Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday night, which should install a bit of confidence back into the players. Freiburg won last weekend, a timely victory too because they had lost two games before that and been kept of the score sheet in both of those. That will boost their confidence, although they will be under no illusions as to how difficult this game is going to be.
These games behind closed doors offer punters a different puzzle to solve, and it will be really interesting to see how teams react to playing with no fans and if any shocks occur.
We don’t expect a shock here, although we do think that the game will be closer than the bookmakers think. We are predicting Leipzig will win the game and scrape through, but the score line will be a low one so we are placing our main bet on Leipzig to win and under 2.5 goals in the game. For our second bet we are focusing on goals again and taking a punt on under 1.5 total goals.
