Leicester vs Birmingham Match Preview
Leicester host Birmingham for their FA Cup clash with a five-match winless streak behind them, where they saw a League Cup exit in the hands of Aston Villa (2-1) and earned just two points in four Premier League outings. They’re now desperate for a Cup pick-me-up and come as heavy betting favourites to earn it.
Foxes conceded just two goals in last three outings but it was only enough for a point against Wolves (0-0), while they saw Man City (0-1) and Norwich (1-0) secure the points in two very narrow occasions more recently. Brendan Rodgers’ men have been scoring more goals at home ground, though, and will now want to end such a streak here.
Birmingham have, on the other hand, seen four draws in a row since mid-February and extended a streak of 13 games without a loss. They held off Millwall (0-0) and QPR (2-2) on two trips last week but holding out at King Power Stadium will be much more of a task for Josep Clotet Ruiz and his men.
Blues bagged six goals in four away games in February and they’ll surely want to be no sitting ducks now either. They have seen a more lenient schedule which leaves them with a lot to prove both in a projected top 6 chase and their Tuesday’s trip to Leicester. We expect them very motivated to deliver but we don’t see them making it past the Premier League rivals.
We will thus stick with Leicester to win but we don’t feel it will come as easy as the odds would suggest. We’ll go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 15/8 with BetVictor and looks like a good approach to the fixture.
With that in mind, we’re making a case for a high-scoring contest here. We’ll go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/15 with William Hill, which looks like more of a banker bet despite the Foxes’ goalscoring performances (or rather the lack of them) recently.
