Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview
Leicester City face another true test of their Premier League top-six credentials against Tottenham after fluffing their lines when they visited Manchester United last weekend.
The Foxes are unlikely to repeat their astonishing title-winning achievement of 2015-16 any time soon, but this season they genuinely have a chance of breaking the grip on the top positions in the table held by the usual suspects.
However, you feel that Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to be more potent than they were at Old Trafford, where they lost 1-0 to a Marcus Rashford penalty. In the second half especially, Leicester had lots of possession but did not create enough clear chances and were ultimately relying on set-pieces to trouble their hosts.
At least they now have home advantage against Tottenham, who have been hit and miss so far this term and will be licking their wounds somewhat after allowing Olympiakos to fight back from 2-0 down to gain a draw in their Champions League opener on Wednesday.
After that match in Greece, Harry Kane admitted Spurs were not learning from their mistakes and understood manager Mauricio Pochettino’s frustration that similar errors were still occurring to when the Argentine took charge five years ago.
On their travels, Spurs remain suspect defensively and while they always have goals in them, their issues at the back could enable Leicester to claim a point here.
