Leicester City vs Fulham Match Preview

Brendan Rodgers and Scott Parker both started their new jobs with 2-1 defeats last weekend, but Fulham may already have improved enough to avoid being beaten at Leicester.

Of these managers, only Rodgers is sure to be still in charge next season having left Celtic for Leicester with surprising haste, whereas Parker, in his own words, is undergoing an “audition” for the Fulham role which he is filling after Claudio Ranieri’s departure.

Fulham were much improved under Parker, especially in the second half, when losing narrowly to Chelsea last Sunday and the former England midfielder’s fresh ideas could be just what the Cottagers need to end their dismal run, even if relegation appears inevitable.

Leicester’s loss at Watford was more surprising because Rodgers looked to have the resources to turn things around quickly with the 2016 champions, given his attacking approach is likely to be vastly different to that of his predecessor Claude Puel.

But goals at either end of the match, which sandwiched Jamie Vardy’s equaliser, condemned the Foxes to a seventh defeat in their last nine games.

Given that poor recent record, Leicester look too short a price here because even though Rodgers has now had a full week to work with his squad and get his message across, the same is true of Parker and Fulham – who may just be able to head home with some reward.
