Leicester City vs Burnley Match Preview
Leicester continue to look like prime candidates for a return to European football next season and are backed to maintain their excellent home form with a victory against Burnley.
With Tottenham and, especially, Manchester United having made disappointing starts to the season, the door is open for one or two teams to gatecrash the Premier League top-six party, if not the top four – and Leicester are at the front of the queue.
The Foxes have lost narrowly at Anfield and Old Trafford this term, but they have collected 10 points from a possible 12 so far on their own pitch and manager Brendan Rodgers has put together a very effective team as well as a squad with impressive depth.
Mind you, Burnley are not doing badly either. They also spent the international break in the top seven, two points behind Leicester, and home form is also their biggest strength.
The Clarets have drawn their last three away games so they are obviously difficult to beat and a goal was scored in the 81st minute or later in all of those, so do not be surprised if there is some late drama here.
However, this looks to be Burnley’s toughest assignment on the road since they lost narrowly at Arsenal and while it is expected to be nowhere near as easy for Leicester as their 5-0 rout of Newcastle in their most recent home game, the 2015-16 champions are backed to come out on top.
