Leeds picked up an important three points on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 victory at Preston that was helped by the home side playing 40 minutes with ten men. The result means they sit in second place and are six points behind leaders Norwich and one above Sheffield United.

At Elland Road, United have won five of their last seven with their two defeats coming against promotion rivals Sheffield United and Norwich. Pablo Hernandez has three in his last three at this ground while Patrick Bamford has eight in his last 12 appearances at all grounds. Five of the last six here have gone over 2.5 goals.

Sheffield Wednesday kept alive their play-off hopes with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last time out with Marco Matias leading the way with a brace. They are now in tenth place and are six points behind Bristol City in sixth. They face a tricky run in with their next three coming against teams in the top six.

Away from Hillsborough, the Owls are unbeaten in their last six though four of these have finished all-square. The Yorkshire outfit have kept clean sheets in four of their last six on the road however all these came against bottom-half sides. Dominic Iorfa has netted two in his last four starts on the road.

Bookmakers have Leeds strong favourites to win this fixture and while we can understand this we think they are being harsh on Wednesday. The Owls have lost just one of their last 14 and that came when Villa had a remarkable injury-time where they netted twice to claim three points that their performance did not merit. This is a Yorkshire derby so not only will the visitors be playing for a slim play-off hope but pride and a chance to damage local rivals in Leeds. Getting the draw on side is important so take Wednesday and the draw in the double chance market.

Leeds are not blowing teams away while Wednesday have been exceptional at the back since Steve Bruce took over and as such we think this fixture could be a tight one and we recommend going under 2.5 goals while under 1.5 also can not be ruled out.
