Lazio vs AC Milan Match Preview
Lazio host AC Milan for the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-finals clash on Tuesday with a three-match losing streak now behind them, where Sevilla outclassed them in Europa League (3-0 on aggregate) and Genoa snatched all three points in a 2-1 home win along the way.
Biancocelesti have been a tougher side in front of the home fans but struggles for consistency here since late November see them four points adrift Serie A top 4. Simone Inzaghi now has a tough task to lift their team spirits in an attempt to earn a boost with Cup success.
Milan have a busier schedule and come into the match just days after hosting Empoli in Serie A, where they look to build on a great 1-3 win at Atalanta and a six-match unbeaten streak across competitions – where they beat Genoa (0-2), Napoli (2-0), and Cagliari (3-0) but also held Roma (1-1) and Napoli (0-0) to draws along the way.
Rossoneri have been led by an in-form Krzysztof Piatek in the final third and started scoring more goals along the way, which should have them in a great mood in Rome as well. They were only denied all three points here in a 1-1 draw with a last-minute equalizer from Joaquin Correa and Gennaro Gattuso will now want more.
We do feel they can leave Olimpico unbeaten once again and we’ll now stick with a Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 4/7 with bet365, which feels like buying money for old rope at this point.
We do feel they’ll have to base such an approach on another tough defensive display, though, as we now go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 17/20 with Paddy Power. This would be the fourth such head-to-head clash in a row and with high stakes involved, it’s easy to make a case for it.
