Juventus vs Empoli Match Preview
Juventus host struggling Empoli for their Matchday 29 clash on Saturday as they return to Serie A after the International break also hoping for a return to the winning ways, having seen Genoa end the streak of four wins across competitions with a 2-0 win at Luigi Ferraris.
Bianconeri have thus seen their more unpredictable spell of form on the road continue but still boast a 15-point gap at the top of the Serie A table, which should have them very confident at Allianz Stadium. They’ve beaten Bologna (0-1), Napoli (1-2), Udinese (4-1), and Atletico Madrid (3-0) in four outings beforehand and Max Allegri will want to replicate such a display now.
Empoli have, on the other hand, gone on the break with an important 2-1 win over Frosinone behind them as they ended a three-match winless streak – where they saw Milan (3-0) and Roma (2-1) bag points on the road and just shared the spoils with Parma in a thriller 3-3 draw.
Azzurri have struggled to produce on the road and still search for their first away win this term, which makes an upset in Turin a wild longshot. They’ve snatched just one point (2-2 at Cagliari) in last six trips but it’s fair to say Aurelio Andreazzoli rarely find themselves all around the place at the back.
We will still back Juventus to return to the winning ways with confidence and we’ll go for a Home win to Nil here, which comes at 21/20 with bet365 and looks great value at this point – as their fourth clean sheet in six outings.
We don’t feel Empoli will be an easy nut to crack, though, and we don’t see Bianconeri turning this one into a very one-sided contest. We’ll thus also stick our necks out for a low-scoring contest at Allianz Stadium and we’ll go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 6/5 with Paddy Power.
