Israel vs Austria Match Preview
Israel put on a solid challenge for a ticket to the Nations League B with home displays against Scotland (2-1) and Albania (2-0) in October and even though they failed to snatch up the top spot after a five-goal thriller in Scotland (3-2 loss), it feels they should be in a good mood as they kick off the EURO 2020 Qualifiers this week.
Blue and Whites host Austria for their clash just days after doing the same for Slovenia midway through the week, surely hoping they can replicate such performances at Sammy Ofer Stadium. Andreas Herzog’s men have been scoring more goals and we expect them very motivated to impress this week.
Austria have enjoyed a better moment but struggled to keep hold of such consistency through their Nations League outings, seeing Bosnia-Herzegovina snatch the ticket to League A with a three-point gap to the Group 3 table-toppers. They’ve failed to connect any two same results since two wins over Russia (1-0) and Germany (2-1) in late May and early June, which will be even more worrying.
Das Team have beaten Northern Ireland (1-2) in their last outing and while this was not enough for the top spot, we should see them motivated to build on the positives as they play Poland and Israel in two important Qualifiers clashes early in the campaign.
We don’t see the visitors snatching their first win in Israel on the day, though, and we’ll now stick our necks out for shared spoils and a Draw priced at 9/4 with William Hill. We’ve seen the Blue and Whites as a very tough side here lately and now hope for more of the same.
Still, we expect an exciting occasion with goals and we’ll go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 17/20 with Paddy Power. We have seen Israel enjoy some high-scoring clashes lately and hope to see them force the visitors into another such occasion on the day.
