Ipswich vs Shrewsbury Match Preview
Ipswich have seen a very disappointing Championship campaign last term but seemingly put it behind them already, now topping the League One table after five games played with 11 points to their name and surely hoping to build on the last week’s performances as they host Shrewsbury on Saturday afternoon.
Blues have beaten AFC Wimbledon (2-1) with two very late goals and Bolton Wanderers (0-5) in a more convincing setup at University of Bolton Stadium. James Norwood and Kayden Jackson led the attacking line with three goals each along the way and we now expect them very motivated to build on the tally here.
Shrewsbury will be no easy rivals to beat and they’ve shown it off since dropping out of the League Cup with a comfortable loss to Rotherham (0-4), with five points earned in three games since. Indeed, they’ve held Rochdale and Burton Albion to goalless draws at home ground but managed a more thrilling 2-3 win at Accrington Stanley in the process, which will be a great boost to their confidence.
Shrews have been scoring goals away from home and will hope this marked a return to such ways, but we feel the trip to Portman Road will be a tougher task. This will be their only first trip to the ground ever too and we feel they don’t have what it takes to cause an upset on the day.
We’ll thus stick with Ipswich to build on their fine performances of recent and doing so at Evens with Unibet feels like great value at this point, as we got used to seeing them very tough to outgun in front of the home fans.
We still hope to see a thriller and with such hopes, we’re also going for goals on both ends with a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at 4/5 with William Hill and has already caught the eye of many in the know as the Blues’ third such occasion in front of the home fans in a row.
