Ipswich drew their fifth from their last six matches in midweek as they picked up a 1-1 draw at Bristol City. It is clear Paul Lambert is having an impact but it is too late as their slow start left them needing wins rather than draws and they are 13 from safety.
At Portman Road, the Tractor Boys are winless in their last four but have lost just three of the previous eight. Just one of the last five here went over 2.5 goals and that featured just three.
Nottingham Forest suffered a blow to their play-off hopes in midweek as they went down 3-1 to promotion rivals Aston Villa. It means they drop down to tenth but they still remain just three points behind Derby in sixth.
Away from the City Ground, the Tricky Trees are now without a win in nine though five of these (including two of their last three) have ended in a draw. In five of their last six on the road they have drawn blanks.
The East Midlands outfit are obviously the stronger team but it is hard to side with them winning here given their road woes have seen them win none of their last nine. Ipswich have been drawing a lot of late (five of their last six) and while a tie will do neither side any favours I can’t help but feel this is how it will end.
Five of the last six the home team have played have ended 1-1 so this might be a correct score option but I prefer to cover a few other scores by taking yes in the both teams to score market and the game to end in a draw.
